Measures You Can Use To Control Nuisance Pests …

• To control Nuisance Ants …sprinkle cinnamon, black pepper, or dry Borax in areas where ants are located.
• Pour baking soda down drains to control Gnats and Fruit Flies.
• Discard old pasta, cereal, crackers, grain products, spices, dry pet food, tea to control Weevils and Stored Product Pests…Wash area with disinfectant to remove any harboring eggs.
• Discard food related garbage, bottles and cans frequently in hot humid weather and keep in sealed bags or cans to control breeding of maggots and flies.
• Before reusing paper or plastic bags brought in from supermarkets or stores, inspect for roaches or roach eggs to avoid an infestation within your home.
• Avoid storing excessive paper products in attics to help deter silverfish.
• Pour beer (fresh or stale) into small shallow containers…place in the areas where Slugs are located…recess the container into the ground a bit….empty when containers are full of Slugs.
• To control Mealy Bugs…dip cotton swabs in rubbing alcohol….touch Mealy Bugs only…avoid contact with the plant.
• Pure Diatomaecous Earth…available from aquarium or pet stores…controls earwigs, silverfish, cockroaches, fleas, and other crawlers…sprinkle around windows and doorways where bugs get in…sprinkle around plumbing, in kitchen cupboards, and in floor cracks where fleas are located…outside put it around or on plants to protect them from crawling insects.
• Natural Repellents…Cedar Bark Tea (repels bugs and beetles)…Red Pepper Tea (repels flea beetles and aphids).
